At Centennial Hills Animal Hospital, our staff wants you to be able to enjoy your pet/s for as long as possible. Preventative care is one of the most important ways to achieve that goal and because your pet/s age faster than we do, bi-annual physical exams are recommended and more often with pets that have any ongoing medical conditions.
During a routine wellness exam, your pet’s doctor may discuss:
- Blood work/urinalysis to identify any possible health concerns
- Which vaccines are necessary and risk factors, if any, associated with vaccinations
- Vaccine titers to assess whether your pet is still covered by previous vaccines
- Dental care and preventative dental maintenance
- Weight management and nutritional counseling
- Behavior counseling
- Flea and tick prevention
- Intestinal parasite screening and prevention
- Heartworm screening and prevention
- X-rays to screen for arthritis
- Skin related issues and other dermatology related concerns
- Senior wellness profiles: diagnostics, diet, environmental health and wellness
- Blood work/urinalysis to identify any possible health concerns
- Hospice, quality of life assessments and euthanasia
If you notice any irregularities with your pet, we recommend taking detailed notes and bring them with you to your pet’s appointment.
